Questionnant une possible actualisation du mythe du déluge, ce travail souhaite établir un parallèle entre le traitement des eaux usées et le traitement de l’information. Plan fixe sur un bassin de station d’épuration où sont drainées les boues polluées. Une voix mécanique, celle de google traduction, vient égrainer mécaniquement les paroles d’une poésie faisant état ironiquement de la surcharge informationnelle à laquelle nous sommes quotidiennement confrontée (infobésité). En contre-point à ces images, un plan sur des bactéries introduites dans les bassins afin d’en décomposer les agents polluants. Une voix vient s’y poser à l’instar d’une personnification. C’est celle d’un curator, terme emprunté à l’art, et dont la fonction est celle de traiter, de filtrer et de sélectionner les différents contenus informationnels.
Questioning the possible updating of the flood myth, this work intends to establish a parallel between the treatment of wastewater and the treatment of information. Static shot of a pool of water treatment plant where polluted sludge are drained. A mechanical voice, that of google translate, mechanically seeds the words of a poem ironically referring to the information overload that we are confronted to daily (infobesity). Against these images, a shot of bacteria introduced into the pool in order to break down pollutants. A voice comes to land there like a personification. It is that of a curator, a term borrowed from art, and whose function is to process, filter and select the different information content.
